Nursery Paint

I came home the other day to a test. I knew I would fail it as soon as I stepped into what would soon be transformed into the new baby’s room. Officially called an office, this is a room that hasn’t been put to much use other than for storage purposes since I bought the house a couple years ago. The paint has remained untouched and needless to say, it isn’t ideal for a nursery. Anyway, I walk in to see paint samples on the wall.

Three to be exact. All the same exact color. All the same exact hue, contrast, brightness and every other term I’ve seen while trying to adjust a flat screen to get the perfect picture. Since “we” don’t want to know the sex of the baby until it’s born, we have to keep everything neutral. I would classify the color samples on the wall as blue-green. But that’s far too dull and generic to market to the buying public, so I checked the labels. They read Tropical Waters, Mosaic Tile and Tucson Teal.

Here is the frustration I stared at:

Of course, I’m eventually asked, “Well? Which one do you like?”

The only word that ran through my guy-brain was “Uhhhhhh.” I guess that’s the sound that came out of my mouth too because I was immediately told how one of the colors was a little more grey and another was brighter, etc.

In any case, I’m fully confident in saying that the official nursery color will be some form of blue-green. And a tip for women when it comes to talking to us guys about colors, please consult this chart:
