Update: One Baby, a New Job and a National Title Later…

Slacker I am. Given that it’s been since October of 2013 since the last post, we’ve had plenty of time for changes. And changes there have been. I have since started a new job (last August) and now I quite enjoy my new title: Coach.

Football Coach David Osborne.

It’s one of those things that I had been thinking about for years and every so often, as that flame would seemingly brush past permanent extinguishment, something would happen in my life that would give that dream renewed fuel. And as it would work out, I found myself just last week getting sized for a ring that doubled as not only a Texas High School State Championship football title but a National Championship as well. Best team in the country in the biggest classification in the country, according to those that get paid to make such distinctions. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to start my coaching career.

We also sold our old house and just passed the one year mark on our new one. Funny how things like that work out, almost as if someone knew that my new job (the one I didn’t have until 8 months after our move) would cut my commute in half from where we now live.

Most importantly, we added a new member to our family. He was born in October and, believe it or not, is bigger than his older brother was at the same age. The oldest one is now 2 1/2 and is insane. 100% boy from the skinned up knees to the affinity with building forts and from an apparent broken voice volume knob (never more obvious than when the smaller one is trying to sleep) to the brutal honesty as found in one of his newest go-to phrases, “I toot!” It is interesting now that we have multiple, small dependents how much easier it seems like it is to take care of just one, when clearly that didn’t seem like the case not that long ago.

Mom is doing great and just went back to work and now I feel like a qualified advocate for maternity leave financial reform.
